Senior Associate - Tax Advisor
CLA Malta is seeking to recruit a Senior Associate - Tax Advisor to join its dynamic team. The successful applicant will join the firm’s tax section and will be providing tax services to the firm’s local and international client base. Responsibilities- Assistance in the Tax Compliance work such as Income Tax Returns and Claims for Refund amongst others;
- Liaising with auditors on tax computation matters;
- Advising and assisting clients on their fiscal obligations and compliance within the prescribed time limits;
- Providing quality service to clients and reporting to management on a regular basis.
- ACCA qualification or equivalent;
- At least one year relevant working experience;
- Knowledge and understanding of local and international tax;
- Be able to work independently as well as in a team;
- Excellent communication and written skills in English and Maltese, whilst knowledge of the Italian language is considered an asset.

Associate - Advisory
We are currently growing our Advisory Section and are looking for an Associate to join our existing team. Responsibilities:- Analysis of financial data and reporting on findings;
- Preparation of financial feasibility reports, business plans and other reports as may be needed by the client, which are required for funding or financing;
- Preparation of technical financial reports, including valuations and market assessment.
- Preparing the application for various local and EU funds on behalf of clients, including but not limited to funds administered by local and EU institutions;
- Supporting the provision of internal audit services to a varied client base;
- Assisting in the development and growth of the Advisory section and
- Attending meetings with clients and providing support to the Advisory team.
- Able to work on own initiative whilst also being a team player;
- Excellent communication skills, especially writing skills in business-level English;
- Proficient in the use of MS Excel; and
- Very organised and able to meet strict deadlines promptly
- Qualified in a finance related field; and
- Previous experience in Advisory would be considered an asset.

We are currently growing our Client Accountancy department and are seeking a motivated and self-driven candidate to join an existing team of professionals, whose main duties include the preparation of financial statements and providing assistance in the preparation of other financial reports. Job Responsibilities:- Works as an effective team member to accurately complete project components and tasks, including:
- Preparing, maintaining, updating and finalising accounting data
- Processing of non-technical and technical information in accounting systems
- Preparation and submission of personal tax returns
- Preparation and submission of VAT tax returns
- Preparation of Management Accounts
- Preparation of Trial Balances
- Preparation and maintenance of cash books
- Preparation and maintenance of accounting journals
- Dealing with the relevant regulatory and supervisory authorities
- Assisting in other accounting related duties when necessary
- ACCA or UoM qualified;
- At least 3-years Accounting experience, ideally within a Client Accounting team;
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel;Knowledge of SAGE, XERO or other accounting software would be considered an asset;
- Strong communication skills in English, and ideally Maltese.

Corporate Services Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Services Officer to join our Legal & Immigration team at CLA Malta. Job Responsibilities:- Managing a portfolio of clients and handling client requests in relation to their companies;
- Setting up of new companies, preparation and submission of statutory filings;
- Maintaining company registers;
- Liaising and corresponding with lawyers, accountants, auditors and other service providers on behalf of the corporate clients;
- Liaising with the Registry of Companies and any other regulatory authorities;
- Ensuring that the portfolio of clients is kept up to date with ongoing monitoring and compliance requirements;
- Ensuring that our system / database is always kept up to date with accurate and correct information;
- Executing the required services in the shortest time frame possible whilst delivering a service that is of the highest quality, meeting clients’ expectations;
- Maintaining an open dialogue of communication with clients on a regular basis and keeping clients informed on any new relevant developments within their industry;
- Providing support to the Legal department at CLA Malta where required;
- Any administrative tasks, which may arise from day-to-day.
- Applicants should possess at least one year in the corporate services, banking and finance, or legal sector;
- A tertiary level of education, ideally related to the above sectors would be preferred;
- Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written, and ideally Maltese.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and complete assignments within deadlines;

AML Analyst
CLA Malta is currently seeking to recruit an ambitious and motivated Anti Money Laundering Analyst to join our growing AML team. Job Responsibilities:- Maintenance of records, updating and amending existing AML databases.
- Perform the required KYC screening on clients by documenting and corroborating the information obtained, and utilising a variety of independent and internal sources as required by KYC procedures.
- Conduct necessary Due Diligence checks for existing and potential new clients.
- Support the Senior AML Officer and Compliance Manager with day-to-day operational and strategical matters.
- Gathering additional customer information to establish source of wealth and source of funds, and Enhanced Due Diligence checks.
- Reach out to clients to obtain necessary documentation and information to satisfy internal onboarding and on-going monitoring requirements.
- Conduct an ongoing review of Client files.
- Requesting, collecting, and reviewing all due diligence documents related to the on-boarding of Clients.
- Handling department's daily AML tasks and operations.
- Other related tasks as may be required from time to time.
- At least 1 years’ experience within an AML or related area.
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Criminology, Law, Banking/Finance, or other relevant areas would be considered an asset.
- Hold an AML MGQ Level 6 / ICA / ACAMS qualification or in the process of sitting for such studies.
- Good communication skills with an excellent level of English, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and aptitude for learning new programs.
- Ability to work well in a team and develop strong relationships.
- Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail.
