Analyst – AML & Compliance
CLA Malta is seeking to recruit an Analyst to join the AML and Compliance team. The successful applicant will be supporting the team to ensure regulatory compliance. Responsibilities:- Assist in fulfilling the Firm’s compliance with the various laws, rules and regulations as directed by the Head of AML & Compliance;
- Identify compliance and regulatory risks and assist in the improvement, introduction and monitoring of controls to mitigate such risks;
- Support the Firm in sustaining a sound compliance framework in general across all the Firm’s operations and staff;
- Handle client onboarding processes, including KYC checks, risk assessments, and documentation review;
- Conduct periodic reviews of existing client files to ensure continued compliance with AML and regulatory standards;
- Provide compliance related support to other departments;
- Assist in addressing all regulatory requests for information, data, reporting etc;
- Maintaining comprehensive and proper documentation records of all customer interaction and due diligence;
- Assistance in opening bank accounts for clients;
- Other related tasks as may be required from time to time.
- A minimum of two years working experience in a similar or related role within the Financial industry;
- Possession of MQF level 5 or better in Risk Management and/or Anti-Financial Crime and/or AML or any other related qualifications will be considered as an asset;
- Knowledge and experience of KYC procedures specifically the due diligence requirements;
- Strong organisational skills;
- Ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines;
- Being meticulous and attentive to detail;
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills;
- Proficiency in using MS Office applications.

Associate - Credit Control
The selected candidate will join the Finance Department and take responsibility for the receivables ledger along with other finance-related tasks. Role and Responsibilities:- Manage and maintain the accounts receivable ledger accurately and up to date.
- Issue invoices and credit notes in accordance with company procedures.
- Monitor customer accounts for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
- Follow up with customers regarding outstanding invoices via phone and email.
- Handle and process cheque and cash payments, ensuring timely bank deposits and proper recording.
- Work closely with other departments to resolve billing issues.
- Conduct debtor meetings and provide updates to management.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures related to accounts receivable and other ledgers.
- Carry out ad hoc tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
- Minimum of an ‘A’ Level in Accounting
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience working in a similar role.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Associate - Advisory
We are currently growing our Advisory Section and we are on the lookout for an Associate to join our existing team. Responsibilities:- Analysis of financial data and reporting on findings;
- Preparation of financial feasibility reports, business plans and other reports as may be needed by the client, which are required for funding or financing;
- Preparation of technical financial reports, including valuations and market assessment.
- Preparing the application for various local and EU funds on behalf of clients, including but not limited to funds administered by local and EU institutions;
- Supporting the provision of internal audit services to a varied client base;
- Assisting in the development and growth of the Advisory section; and
- Attending meetings with clients and providing support to the Advisory team.
- Able to work on own initiative whilst also be a team player;
- Excellent communication skills, especially writing skills in a business-level English;
- Proficient in the use of MS Excel; and
- Very organised and able to meet strict deadlines in a timely manner
- ACCA or UoM qualified; and
- Previous experience in Advisory would be considered an asset.

Associate - Payroll
CLA Malta is currently seeking to expand the Payroll department by recruiting a Payroll Associate. Responsibilities:- Prepare and manage the periodical payrolls for a variety of clients;
- Processing of various payroll reports requested by clients;
- Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data in the relevant payroll system;
- Issue payroll related documents as required by Law such as FS3, FS5 and FS7 forms;
- Preparing and processing documents for newly engaged and terminated employees and in a timely manner;
- Maintain client confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential;
- Engage in month-end consolidation and reconciliation and payment of payroll taxes as required;
- Assisting in the invoicing and billing of the company's clients;
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing internally set targets as needed; and
- Engage in any other related tasks as assigned by Management.
- A’level standard of education;
- A minimum of two (2) years working experience in running payroll;
- Hands-on experience with Shireburn Indigo shall be considered an asset;
- Have good interpersonal skills - fluency in English and Maltese is a must whilst further languages, namely Italian, would be an advantage;
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications;
- Highly organised with a high attention to detail; and
- Abilitiy to work on own initiative and under strict deadlines.

Lawyer - Legal & Corporate
We are currently growing our Legal & Corporate Section and we are on the lookout for a Lawyer to join our existing team. The responsibilities shall include but shall not be limited to:- Assisting with ongoing legal work on corporate, immigration, contractual, employment, data protection, compliance, shipping and regulatory matters;
- Drafting of legal and corporate documents;
- Assisting with immigration matters, including the compilation of documents for work permits applications and residency applications;
- Reviewing and maintaining the Firm’s policies;
- Supporting ongoing client requests which fall within the Legal Team’s expertise;
- Monitoring updates within various legal fields;
- Liaising with competent authorities on behalf of clients as may be required;
- Conducting legal research and providing detailed analysis of cases and jurisprudence;

- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Law;

Senior Manager – Audit & Assurance

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager to oversee the Audit team, ensure the efficient management of a large and diverse portfolio of clients, and support the Director of Audit with departmental needs. Job Responsibilities:- Managing and overseeing client audit engagements which include planning, executing, directing, and completing financial audits.
- Perform Audits of financial statements of different entities operating in various industries.
- Complete audit procedures to obtain sufficient appropriate audit evidence in accordance with ISAs.
- Responsible for ensuring that all audits are carried out in a timely manner and according to deadlines, audit plan and budgets.
- Planning Audit projects and ensuring adequate resources are allocated to the projects.
- Manage multiple projects, through the management of a team of audit staff.
- Hold meetings with clients to discuss Audit status and findings, and continuously build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Monitor client service standards and take action to improve audit quality service.
- Actively engaged throughout the whole Audit processes, acting as a point of reference for the team and guiding accordingly.
- Delivering accounting and auditing training in training programmes organised by the firm.
- Adhere to the firm’s process for audit client acceptance and continuance.
- Actively participate with the audit directors in the optimization of the client portfolio.
- Responsible for the management of a portfolio of clients, as well as managing Senior team members and their respective teams, and reviewing working papers.
- Determining fees and discussing them with the clients.
- Identifying overruns, taking the necessary action.
- Keep abreast of accounting and auditing standards developments.
- Provide technical knowledge, direction and training to audit staff.
- Participate in the recruitment process for the department.
- ACCA or UoM qualified.
- At least 4 years working experience within an Audit team at a senior level.
- Possess a high level of technical expertise in Audit, as well as other areas within accounting, finance, & technology.
- Highly knowledgeable in IFRSs,GAPSME and ISAs.
- Excellent communication skills with a high level of fluency in English, written and verbal.
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel software.
- Experience using SAGE and XERO accounting software packages would be an asset.
- Leadership skills and the ability to manage Audit teams.
