Manager - Audit & Assurance
About CLA Malta CLA Malta is a leading professional services firm forming part of the CLA Global network. With over 140 professionals locally and a growing international footprint, we are strengthening our Audit & Assurance leadership team and are seeking an Audit Manager to join us. The Role As an Audit Manager, you will manage a portfolio of clients while also taking direct responsibility for reviewing, leading and executing complex audit engagements. You will play a key technical and supervisory role within the team, ensuring quality delivery and strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities- Manage, review and lead audit engagements from planning through to completion Personally lead and perform complex audit assignments, including preparation and review of financial statements
- Prepare and review audit strategies, risk assessments and audit plans
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAPSME and applicable regulatory requirements
- Perform detailed technical reviews of working papers prior to Principal review
- Manage a client portfolio and act as primary point of contact
- Oversee engagement budgeting, timelines and team allocation
- Identify and resolve audit risk and accounting technical matters
- Provide mentorship, guidance and on-the-job training to team members
- Liaise with other service lines to ensure seamless delivery
- Fully qualified Accountant (ACCA or equivalent)
- In possession of, or in process of obtaining, a CPA warrant and Practising Certificate in Auditing (Malta)
- Minimum 4+ years’ audit experience
- Strong working knowledge of ISAs, IFRS and GAPSME
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Strong commercial awareness and client-facing confidence
- Excellent technical competence and analytical thinking
- Organised, proactive and solutions-driven
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Associate - Tax
CLA Malta is seeking to recruit an Associate - Tax Advisor to join its dynamic team. The successful applicant will join the firm’s tax section and will be providing tax services to the firm’s local and international client base. Responsibilities- Assisting clients in the areas of direct taxes;
- Preparation of written Tax opinions as may be required by the clients;
- Assistance in the Tax Compliance work such as Income Tax Returns and Claims for Refund amongst others;
- Liaising with auditors on tax matters;
- Advising and assisting clients on their fiscal obligations and compliance within the prescribed time limits;
- Advising and assisting clients on the most tax-efficient way of structuring their corporate and tax affairs;
- Assisting private clients with their fiscal obligations in terms of the various Tax Residency Schemes applicable at the time;
- Seeing to the needs and wishes of clients and prospective clients in the best possible manner and efficiently.
- ACCA qualification or equivalent;
- At least one/two years relevant experience;
- Knowledge and understanding of local and international tax;
- Be able to work independently as well as in a team;
- Excellent communication and written skills in English and Maltese, whilst knowledge of the Italian language is considered an asset.

Senior Audit Associate
CLA Malta offers great career opportunities for both ACCA and University graduates, as well as for experienced professionals within our Audit section. We are currently growing our Audit team and we are on the look out for a Senior Associate to join our existent group of auditors. Job Responsibilities: Leading client audit engagements which include planning, executing, directing, and completing financial audits:- Applying generally accepted accounting principles and reporting rules, where applicable; and financial statement presentation,
- Acquire working knowledge of the client’s business,
- Proactively interact with key client’s management to gather information, resolve problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvement.
- Fully ACCA qualified (or equivalent) coupled with a minimum of 3 years previous working experience within an Audit team,
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs. An advanced level in Microsoft Excel would be considered an asset,
- Strong communication skills in English and Maltese, both written and spoken.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing client and business dynamics
- Efficient coupled with a good eye for detail
- Risk awareness and high integrity when dealing with confidential information

Client Accountant
CLA Malta offers great career opportunities for both ACCA and University graduates, warranted professionals, as well as for candidates who are currently still undergoing studies. We are currently growing our Accountancy team and we are on the lookout for a motivated and self-driven candidate to join an existing team of professionals, whose main duties include the preparation of financial statements and providing assistance in the preparation of other financial reports. Client Accountant Job Responsibilities:- Works as an effective team member to accurately complete project components and tasks, including:
- Preparing, maintaining, updating and finalising accounting data
- Processing of non-technical and technical information in accounting systems
- Preparation and submission of personal tax returns
- Preparation and submission of VAT tax returns
- Preparation of Management Accounts
- Preparation of Trial Balances
- Preparation and maintenance of cash books
- Preparation and maintenance of accounting journals
- Dealing with the relevant regulatory and supervisory authorities
- ACCA or UoM qualified;
- Working experience within an accounting team would be considered an asset;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs. An advanced level in Microsoft Excel would be considered an asset;
- Strong communication skills in English and Maltese, both written and spoken.
