On Thursday, 10th September, our Accounting Department Directors, Shania Buttigieg and Lara Ouichni, together with members of the CLA Malta Marketing Team, visited the FIDEM Foundation at its headquarters. The visit gave our team the opportunity to learn more about the organisation, the people behind it and the work they carry out within the community.
FIDEM’s work is centred primarily on empowering women through education, personal development and wellbeing, while also extending support to men through dedicated initiatives. Its educational programmes support participants aged 18 and over, helping them access learning opportunities, build confidence, develop new skills and work towards greater independence.
During our time together, the FIDEM team shared more about the work and commitment that goes into supporting participants throughout their educational journey. They spoke openly about the effort and resources required to organise and sustain their programmes, the financial challenges they face and, most importantly, the satisfaction that comes from seeing participants apply for courses, remain committed and continue progressing through their studies.
The discussion gave us a valuable insight into the people and experiences behind FIDEM’s work, and into the impact that access to the right opportunities and support can have.
