On Friday, 4th September, the CLA Malta team spent a meaningful day volunteering at the Soup Kitchen in Valletta. During our visit, we had the opportunity to meet Fr Marcellino, the community he supports, and the dedicated volunteers who contribute their time and energy to this important cause. Our team helped prepare and serve lunch, working alongside the volunteers before sitting around the table with the Soup Kitchen community to share a meal and conversation.
Throughout the day, we also listened to the stories and experiences of some of the people we met. These moments gave us the opportunity to reflect, connect and better understand the importance of approaching others with empathy, dignity and without judgement. What made the experience particularly meaningful was its simplicity: preparing food together, listening to one another and sharing a table as equals.
We would like to thank Fr Marcellino and all the volunteers for welcoming us and for the work they continue to carry out within the community. This initiative reflects what CLA Malta stands for: being present, giving back and creating meaningful connections beyond the workplace.
