On Saturday, 12th September 2026, the QLZH Foundation organised its 10th Annual Ocean Bed Clean-Up at the Birgu Waterfront, bringing together volunteers with a shared commitment to protecting Malta’s marine environment.
Following our support for the previous edition, CLA Malta was proud to once again sponsor this meaningful environmental initiative, contributing to the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to preserve our seas and raise awareness about marine pollution.
This year’s event saw over 70 volunteers come together, including 25 divers, 10 snorkelers and numerous others assisting from land, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. Through their collective efforts, an impressive two skips full of rubbish were removed from the seabed and surrounding waterfront area.
While the results represent a significant achievement, the clean-up also highlighted the extent of marine pollution still affecting the area. With considerable waste remaining beneath the surface, the QLZH Foundation has already expressed its intention to return to the Birgu Waterfront next year and continue its efforts.
At CLA Malta, we believe that supporting initiatives like this goes beyond a financial contribution. It is about standing alongside organisations and individuals who dedicate their time and energy to making a positive difference in our communities and environment.
We would like to congratulate the QLZH Foundation, the organisers and every volunteer who contributed to the success of this year’s event. Their dedication serves as a reminder of what can be achieved when people come together for a common purpose.
Protecting our seas is a shared responsibility, and every collective effort brings us one step closer to a cleaner, more sustainable future.
”Protecting our seas today means preserving life beneath the waves for generations to come.”
